10 Days Nordic Trekking in Nepal

This is easy but nice hiking nearby Kathmandu which offers you to have rendezvous with nature. You gain the clear views of cultural diversities, interesting traditional practices, lush vegetation, breathtaking panoramic mountain views of and peculating Himalayan range from Manaslu to Mr. Everest in the North, Himal, and Jugal Himal range in the north and bird’s eye view rich terraces and in the west. It is also one of the easy, finest and best trekking destination near Kathmandu for all kind of People.

Day by day Itinerary

  • Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival and Overnight at Hotel. BB
    GHA representative will greet you in TIA airport and transfer you to the hotel, here you will be formally introduced to your activities and the guide.
  • Day 02: Drive to Sundarijal ( 1350 m) and trek to Chisapani.
    Climbing through forest to Mulkharka at 1800m which has great views of Kathmandu valley. Walking further on you will find yourself entering the Shivpura Watershed and Wildlife reserve where you will continue climbing to Borlang Bhanjyang ( 2440m). The mountain views from the redge are excellent as they are from Chisopani ( 2140m).
  • Day 03: Chisapani-Nagarkot ( 2175m). Overnight in Club Himalaya.
    Early Morning the northern mountain views attact you. Then after breakfast your trek start to Chauki Bhanjyang which takes about 2 and half hours, you will stop here for an hour for your lunch. You continue the charming trails lead 3 hours toward Nagarkot. ( Walking 5/6 hours) Nagarkot, ( 2175 m) is by far the most popular. In the clear weather the Himalayan range, stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way past Everest to Kanchenjunga in the east, emerges from the darkness to greet the happy visitor with its awe inspiring majesty and beauty.
  • Day 05: Nagarkot-Dhulikhel ( 1440m) & Explore the Dhulikhel. Overnight in Dhulikhel Mountain Resort. BLD.
    This day, you are guided along the hiking trails to Dhulikhel. As you approach Dhulikhel, a plethora of cultural diversities, interesting traditional practices, lush vegetation and rich birdlife unfolds before you Dhulikhel ( 1440m) is a small town with a long history. Records show that it has been around for more than 500 years. The artistic skill and urban ethos of its Newar inhabitants have created a place of charm and beauty. Streets lined with bare-brick houses, carved wooden windows, shopping title roofs, pagoda temples and scared statues everywhere. The major places of worship here are the Narayan and Harisiddhi temples which are adored with profuse wood carvings. The Gokhureswar Mahadev Temple, a 30 minutes walk to the eastern part of town, is a peaceful and scenic spot. The Bhagawati temple is situated at a height in the western part of Dhulikhel and dominates the skyline. From here, you can get a beautiful vista of the town and surrounding areas.
  • Day 06: Dhulikhel-Namobuddha ( 1750m) Overnight in Namobuddha Resort. BLD.
    Trek from Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha-Panauti and it takes approximately four and half hours from Dhulikhel, the trail climbs up to the Kali Mandir, a temple dedicated to Goddness Kali. From there the trail drops down to the village of Kavre and past a line of shops and tea houses. It then climbs again through pine woods past Phulbari and up and down a couple of more hills before you reach the hill of Namobuddha. Namobuddha situated at an elevation of 1750m is very important Buddhist Pilgrimage located in Kavre District about 38 km east of Kathmandu. The stupa and shrines built in this lovely little hill mark a very ancient holy site significantly enough where a legendary prince named Mahasattva offered himself to a starving Tigeress with its several underfed clubs. The legendary episode is depicted in a very nice stone slab and placed right next to a holy stupa.
  • Day 07: Namobuddha to Balthali ( 2400m). Overnight in Balthali Village Resort. BLD
    After pleasant walking for 3 hours you will reach to Balthali, here you can explore around a typical Buddhist village Danda gaon where a Buddhist community lives. Similarly we can work to pada gaon ( 2100m) from here you can have amjestic view of whole Himalayan ranges to north and beautiful green forest to Mahabharat Range. After having a pleasant walk come back to Resort.
  • Day 08: Balthali to Panauti ( 1400m) & Drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight in Hotel. BLD
    After breakfast continue walk to the Typical Newari village of Panuti, This traditional Newar settlement has a particularly rural character and a variety of farm products are offered for sale throughout the town. Panauti boasts a large number of fascinating temples. This village is connected to our religion. In history they say that under the ground there is only one large atone on which Panauti village rests.There are also several years old temples, from here drive for 1 and half hours to Kathmandu.
  • Day 09 : Kathmandu free day of your town. Overnight in Hotel BB.
    Enjoy a day exploring some of the quieter streets of Kathmandu, stocking up on souvenirs and presents for those back home. This evening you have a farewell dinner, you will be picked up in good time.
  • Day 10 : Final Departure. B
    You will be met at your hotel and taken to the airport in good time to meet your flight home.

It is method of walking by using the pair of poles. It's based on using specially designed walking poles in a way that harnesses the power of the upper body in order to propel you forward as you walk.

Who is Nordic walking suitable for ?
Nordic walking is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Classes range from gentle walks for people with health concerns, to workout walks, which are a great way to improve fitness, lose weight and tone the whole body.

What equipment do you need ?
You’ll need a pair of Nordic walking poles and walking shoes and appropriate clothing. Most Nordic walking instructors will provide the poles but you can buy good quality one.

What are the health benefits of Nordic walking?

Similar to other forms of exercise, regular Nordic walking can lower your risk of chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, asthma, stroke and some cancers. Nordic walking, like any other form of exercise, can also be used as part of an exercise programme to lose weight.
