Nepal re-open for tourist with new travel rules

Nepal is now re-open for tourist with new travel rules. Government of Nepal resumed the on-arrival visa service to fully vaccinated foreign tourists against COVID-19. It’s also thrown away the seven-day quarantine requirements as well. Now foreign tourists can start their trip right after their entry here in Nepal.

Nepal’s Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation said that foreign tourists would able to receive on-arrival visas after producing documents showing they are fully inoculated against the coronavirus at least the 14 days prior to their arrival in Nepal.
Nepal re-open for Tourism

  1. No quarantine rule for fully vaccinated travelers but their last dose of of vaccine must be at least 14 days before enter Nepal.

  2. The require documents for on-arrival visa service.
    • Vaccination Certificate with proof of at least 14 days prior to entering Nepal
    • All vaccinated travelers will have to present a negative COVID-19 test result taken 72 hours prior to the departure.
    • Print copy of filled International Online Arrival Form available at CCMC website.

  3. Non-vaccinated travelers do not get on arrival visa services.. They need to have prior visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions in their respective countries.

  4. Non-vaccinated travelers need to stay 10 days in quarantine at their own cost in the hotels designated by Government of Nepal. (https://www.tourismdepartment.gov.np/pages/notices/33/195 )

Here are latest updates on the travel protocols to be followed while entering Nepal.

Though, there are some travel restrictions, if you abide by the rules, traveling in Nepal will not be a hassle. With the Government’s aggressive inoculation campaign, more than 19% of the total population is fully vaccinated and more than 21% had already received their first dose.

Most tourism professionals belong to the prioritized frontline groups, above 95% of the tourism workers have been fully vaccinated by now 97% in mountain region.
