The Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour starts from Kathmandu from where the flight takes you to Lukla. From Lukla following the popular Everest trail via Namche-Tengboche. In addition, walking through artistic Buddhist monasteries and museums, suspension bridges enrolled in prayer flags, we reach the Everest Base Camp nestled in the giant Khumbu glacier. Trek preparation & Kathmandu valley sightseeing.
After your breakfast you will be introduced to the trekking guides and helpers. And the Kathmandu sightseeing beings with visit to various UNESCO enlisted cultural Heritage sites including medieval Palaces in Kathmandu-Bhaktapur-Lalitpur Durbar squares. Other sites are Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath and Swayambhunath Stupa.In the evenining you will walk along the Thamel streets which is a good place to buy trekking equipment.

Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2652m). 3/4 hrs walking.
Early morning transfer to airport for Lukla flight. The flight into Lukla is a lifetime experience in itself. The airfield is at high elevation and the runway is mere 60 meter long! Trek to Phakding walking along green landscapes & view of Kusum Kangraru.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m), 5/6 hrs walk.
We follow the Dudh Kosi, ascending through Himalayan pine and Doedar cedar forests, to the celebrated village of Namche Bazaar. The village of Namche is a historic trading post where Nepalese and Tibetan traders exchange salt, dried meat and textiles. Besides being a superb place to shop for traditional crafts, Namche remains the central trading post in the Khumbu, attracting Himalayan and lowland merchants. You will spend two days in Namche for acclimatization, visit local markets and spend time with your team. On the hike we capture our first glimpses of Everest and neighboring peaks.

Acclimatization Day in Namche.
This day is reserved for acclimatization and a very slow ascend into the thin air. After breakfast you will start to ascend towards Khumjung. The trail ascends above Namche Bazar and passes through Syangboche (3720m) – this is where the local airport is located. From a hill top above the airport, you will get your first view of Tangboche Peak (6367m), Lhotse Peak (8414m) and Ama Dablam (6856m). On arrival at Khumjung (3780m), you could visit the Hillary School before stopping for lunch at one of the tea houses - the walk takes about 3 hours. After lunch you will continue ascending the foot path to Khunde (3840m), here you could visit the local hospital before the 2 hour ascend back to Namche Bazar. This day is physically demanding at times and you should be prepared as the weather is very unpredictable. Namche Bazaar is known as the gateway of the Everest Region, visit the local museum where you can see the traditional custom of the Sherpa peoples. You will spend a second night in Namche.

Trek to Tengboche (3860m), 5/6 hrs walk.
The flat and easy trail leads towards the view of Mt. Everest, then descends deep into the Dudh Kosi Valley at Pungki Thanka; from here it ascends the right flank of the Dudh Kosi valley to Tengboche Monastery (3860m). It is the spiritual center of the Khumbu; the climb is long, but more than adequately compensated by views of Mt. Amadablam and on a clear day, views of Mt. Everest and its surrounding peaks.

Trek to Dingboche (4410m) 4/5 hrs walk.
Descend through a beautiful forest then cross the Imja Khola and trek through the village of Pangboche (3900m); This day is probably the most interesting trekking day because you will not lose altitude like on other days and you will enjoy views of Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse & other peaks; the route continues through pastures to Dingboche, known as the 'summer valley'.

Second acclimatization day.
This would be your second acclimatization day that requires about 6 hours of trekking to an altitude of 5100m. After breakfast you ascend Nagerjun (5100m), a hill located on the flanks of the Chhukung valley directly above Dingboche. The main aim is to climb high and sleep low. The foot path becomes steep at times, resulting in a physically challenging day – ascending the hill could take up to 5 hours at altitude. From this altitude there are good views of Lobuche East (6119m), Lobuche West (6145m), Taboche Peak (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m) and Ama Dablam (6856m). On a clear day you could even see Makalu, the world’s fifth highest mountain, including great views of the Pheriche Valley. After a short rest, you start to descend back to Dingboche – the walk at altitude takes about 2 hours. After lunch you should take a well-deserved rest, afternoon temperatures could drop rapidly as the sun sets over the mountain tops. You will spend a second night in Dingboche.

Trek to Lobuche (4910m), 5/6 hrs walk.
Trek along a broad valley floor to Dughla, passing the Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche (4240 m), staffed by western volunteer doctors and supported by the Himalayan Rescue Association which offers treatment and consultation to trekkers. We continue up the valley, gaining altitude. Come out of the valley to descend to the yak pastures of Lobuche (4910m).

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5160m), then return to Gorakshep, 5/6 hrs walk.
After a short climb through meadows, look down on the Khumbu Glacier. Straight ahead is Kalapattar - the best vantage point to view the entire south face of Mt. Everest and the surrounding peaks. After couple of hours we will reach Gorakshep, and continue our journey to Everest Base camp. There is not much elevation gain, but there are a lot of ups and downs and, combined with altitude, this can be a tiring portion- but the journey is worth it. After approximately 3 hrs of hiking you will arrive at Base Camp and enjoy views of the Khumbu Glacier and icefall, where Everest expeditions begin.

Hiking to Kalapattar (5545m) and return to Gorakshep, 3/4 hrs walk. And fly to Lukla by Helicopter.
The day starts with a hike up to Kalapattar (5545m), the best viewpoint to witness Mt. Everest and the spectacular Himalayan range. Then trek back to Gorekshep for hot breakfast. From there you will take a helicopter flight to reach directly to Lukla. This is the opportunity to view various jewels of Everest region from a bird’s eye view. Explore each and every mountains, glaciers and Lakes and the memorable trail you have just walked through, all from the blue sky. The night is spent at Lukla.

You can get the visa at Tribhuwan International Airport after landing, furthermore it will be easier if you fill up the visa form by online (http://online.nepalimmigration.gov.np/tourist-visa) before taking the flight to Nepal. Entry Visa fees- at present is $ 25 for 15 day, $ 40 for 30 days and $ 100 for three month visa on entry to Nepal.

The best season for this trek is October to mid-December and mid-February to mid-June. This trip is not preferred during the monsoon season from June to August except the treks to Himalayan rain shadow like Upper Mustang and Mt. Kailas.
In Kathmandu, you can allocate $ 10-15 for lunch and dinner. It all depends on your spending habits. $. 15- 20 a day will be enough to buy bottles of water, chocolate and few drinks.
In case of any casualties, travel insurance will be a boon to recover the incurred expenses. In case of helicopter rescue, the helicopter charge, which is little expensive, can also be recovered by your insurance. So it a good act to check you insurance validity and policy, whether it recovers the rescue charges or not.

Equipment items are individual interests & choices but the most important fact is that you should carry enough clothes to tackle the cold weather in the Himalayas. During the trek heavy items will be carried by our porters or yaks. And the personal belongings which you need for daily or frequent purposes like money, water bottle, rain gear, camera, sun-cream and toilet paper etc. are to be carried by yourself in the backpack. We will provide complimentary water proof duffel bag which you can use during the trek and is carried by porters. You can leave your non trekking items at the hotel or in our office and collect them after the trek.
