Ghorepani-Poonhill From Pokhara is a short but famous trek destination in Nepal. Ghorepani-Poonhill trek lies under Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). This short trek offers you the most beautiful view of the Himalayas with beautiful culture and traditions of Gurung tribes of Nepal. The highest point of this trek is Poonhill which is situated at an altitude of 3,210 m. Poonhill is named after Tek Bahadur Poon who discovered this beautiful hill station. The starting point of Ghorepani-Poonhill trek is Nayapul. Ghorepani-Poonhill trek is suitable for trekkers of any age group.

This Ghorepani-Poonhill budget trek is especially designed for those trekkers who want to trek Ghorepani-Poonhill shortly with limited amount of money. In comparison to premium trek package, this budget trek does not include some services of premium package but there is no any difference in the quality of service. We will provide you an experienced trekking guide who will help you and guide the trail throughout the trek.

Drive to Nayapul; trek to Tikhedhunga. (2 hours’ drive; 3 hours trek)
After breakfast, a private vehicle will come to pick you up at the hotel. You will drive up to Nayapul. It is around 2 hours’ drive. The road condition and traffic may affect the drive duration. Nayapul is the starting point of the trek. You will pass Birethanti and walk along the Modi Khola. After walking for around 3 hours, you will reach Tikhedhunga. It is a small but beautiful settlement just below Ulleri hill.
Reaching Tikhedhunga, you will check in to the hotel and rooms will be assigned.



Trek Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani. (2,840 m)
You will check out from the hotel after having breakfast. You will begin the walk of the day up to Ghorepani. In the beginning of the trek, you have to ascend Ulleri hill which is the only difficult part of the trek. There are more than 3000 stone steps you need to ascend to reach the top of Ulleri. It takes around 1.5 hours to conquer the hill. You will ascend various stone steps and pass various rhododendron trees. You will notice various small waterfalls, rivers and scenic views. Passing both upper and lower Nangethati and walking for several hours, you will finally reach lower Ghorepani. Upper Ghorepani is about 10 minutes up from lower Ghorepani. The total trek duration of the day is around 5 hours.
You will check in to the hotel and rooms will be assigned to you as per the reservation.



Hike Poonhill (3,210 m); Trek to Tadapani. (2,610 m)
Early morning, you will hike Poonhill from where you will admire the most beautiful and mind blowing sunrise. You will meet many other trekkers during the early walk to Poonhill. It is about 1.5 hours hike up to Poonhill. Amazing view of Mt. Fishtail, Mt. Himchuli, Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri and many more other peaks can be admired from Poonhill with a mind blowing sunrise. You will spend some time at Poonhill and then descend to Ghorepani.
You will check out from the hotel and then start trekking Tadapani. Tadapani is around 4 hours trek from Ghorepani. The walk contains ascending and descending of various stone steps inside the dense forest of rhododendron. You will pass various human settlements and small waterfalls.
After reaching Tadapani, rooms will be assigned to you.



Trek Tadapani to Ghandruk. (1,940 m)
This will be the last day of the trek. You will drive Pokhara the next day. After breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and start hiking to Ghandruk. The trail is not so difficult. You will reach Ghandruk in less than 5 hours though you walk in normal pace. You will be very surprised to see the first glimpse of Ghandruk village. The small stone roofed houses with the Himalayas background will cherish you. Ghandruk is a large settlement of Gurung tribes of the Himalayas.

After reaching Ghandruk, rooms will be assigned as per the reservation. Rest of the day is free to explore and interact with the locals.



Drive Ghandruk to Pokhara. (3.5 hours’ drive)
This morning, you will drive down all the way to Pokhara. You will visit the Gurung museum and explore the village early morning and then get ready for the drive. A private vehicle will come to pick you up. You may have to walk for 5-10 minutes to reach the bus park. It is around 3.5 hours’ drive to Pokhara from Ghandruk via Birethanti, Nayapul and Kande.

After reaching Pokhara, rooms will be assigned. Rest of the day is free for shopping and exploring around the lakeside. You can experience the night life of Pokhara as well.
