Langtang Valley Trekking is a unique and short trek in the Langtang National Park area which provides a fabulous opportunity to have close encounter with mountains from Langtang and Tibetan ranges, and experience pristine rural life of the Tamang and Sherpa communities of the Himalayas. The region is rich in various wildlife and forest resources. Moreover, it is popular as the home of Red Pandas, a protected rare animal.

The trek starts from Syafrubesi (117 km away from Kathmandu). We walk along the Langtang River flowing through a narrow George. Walking through the lush rhododendron and pine forest we reach Langtang Valley via Lama Hotel route. The whole background is dominated by the Langtang Range and Langtang Valley lies in the lap of Mt. Lantang Lirung (7246m). The place is inhabited by the Tibetan Budhhist community. Moving a little higher we reach Kyanjing Gompa (3740m), an ancient monastery.

You can have non-technical peak climbing options in Kyanjing Gompa. Climb a peak in the early morning and enjoy the view of same peak in the afternoon in the restaurant with coffee in your hand. Apart from it you can visit Cheese factory (4633m) or walk along the Langsisa pasture and reach Tsergo Ri (4984m) to view numerous glaciers and mountain ranges from Nepal and Tibet including Dorje Lakpa and Shisapangma (8013m), the highest from the Tibet. Our return is made through the same route following Langtang village-Lama hotel-syafrubesi and finally a drive to Kathmandu from there.

(Langtang valley was vastly devastated by the major earthquake in 12 April, 2015. The physical structures completely collapsed, which are in stages of rebuit. Whereas, the natural beauty of Langtang region is still prevalent in its original form as it used to be. )
