A guided adventure motorcycle ride to lower Mustang is one of the ultimate rides in the rain shadow part of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan range. The Lower Mustang Motorbike Tour offers magnificent views of Himalayas, terrain landscape, colorful and vibrant Buddhist cultures, ancient temples and monasteries. The ride start from Kathmandu to Pokhara and ride to Beni Bazzar. After Beni you will ride completely off road with wind-swept desert landscape of the Himalayas with views of world deepest gorges Kaligandaki, high passes and enormous vistas passing through authentic Tibetan villages, barren ridges, eroded cliffs and moraine valleys. This Lower Mustang Motorbike tour is designed for those adventure lovers who want to experience the real lifestyle and people of the Himalayas.

9 days Motorbike tour includes Kathmandu Sightseeing and preparation. You will ride to Pokhara where you will explore beautiful Lakes, green hills and Panoramic Himalayan of Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri and Fishtail. After Pokhara you will ride towards Jomsom Muktinath which reaches at Kalopani village. You will pass Jomsom, Cross Kaligandaki River and reach Muktinath (3,800miters) "the holy Temple". Next day after relaxing at Muktinath the journey will back to Tatopani where you will get natural hot spring for relax.

 

Best season to go

We recommended this tour from March to May and September to November. December to February is also suitable where weather is clear but because of the winter season we might get snow fall during the time. Monsoon, months of June July and august is not recommended where we get heavy rainfall.

Note: Minor Repairs like break shoe, spark plug, clutch plate, tubes, cable (01 set only) and engine oil has been included in the cost. However if more breakage happen due to rough handling/accidents/theft etc., the clients will have to bear the cost.

After breakfast at Hotel, we ride out of the city, just past Thankot. The road becomes much larger and comfirtable as well as more smoother enjoyable ride on the highway. On the way we will refuel our bikes and have a lunch somewhere near by bank of the Trishuli River and continue ride to Pokhara. Pokhara is a natural city located at 884 meters elevation is ideal vacationer’s paradise. The crystal clear lakes, magnificent views of Himalayas, caves etc are major tourist attraction here in pokhara. Upon arrival at Pokhara you will check in your hotel and after resting for a while you will proceed for the sightseeing tour of lakeside and Barahi temple.

An early breakfast at Hotel, you will ride towards) - Beni Bazzar ( 70 KM) on the Baglung Highway. This part of the ride offer you fantastic mountain vistas of Annapurna, Fishtail and Dhaulagiri. Also most of the ride is picturesque terraced farmlands and you will get an opportunity to walk on Nepal's highest and famous suspension bridges. After Beni Bazzar your track is Unpaved, graveled rough road poses a real challenge for riders. Also some parts occasional river crossings is required. Natural Hot spring TATOPANI “Tato” means 'hot' and “Pani” means 'water', is a popular spot for trekker’s to relax. Upon arrival at guesthouse day is free to relax or explore the surrounding villages or relaxing dip in the Hot Springs located nearby.

An early breakfast at guesthouse, you ride following the Kali Gandaki River and passing several Villages to Dana, Ghasa, Tukuche and Kalopani. Enroute, there are fantastic views of the Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Tukuche (6920m), and Nilgiri (7061m). You will continue ride to Jomsom through the dusty graveled “off” road passing smaller settlements and apple orchards. The journey offers scenic views of the rugged landscape, beautiful cascading waterfalls, orange and apple orchards, scattered roadside villages, ancient Buddhist monasteries all make it the best ride of the trip. Finally you will arrive at Muktinath “Place of Salvation" and visit Muktinath Temple. Muktinath is a sacred place both for Hindus and Buddhists at the foot of the Thorong La (5416 m Pass).

Today after leisurely breakfast at huesthouse you will ride down to Kagbeni (2800 m) which is the gateway to Upper Mustang. You will explore the local village Kagbeni where you will see fascinating medieval village with closely packed mud brick houses, dark alleys and imposing chortens. After Kagbeni you will continue ride to Jomsom (approx. 11 Km) and arrive at Kalopani via Marpha Villag. Small town Marpha is famous for its apple orchards and apple products.

What Kind of Motorbike is provided?

We have 411 CC Royal Enfield Himalayan or 500 CC Royal Enfield classic motorbike which are very powerful and comfortable for long drive. Please write us which bike is comfortable for you. We can also provide other brands of motorbikes if your require brands of motorbikes are available in Nepal. Now this year, we have added 15 Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 CC bikes for our adventure.

 

Do I Need License to ride in Nepal?

Of Course, without a license you are not a real rider. Before arrive in Nepal we Need your possport copy and license copy then we will make local permits for your riding. Which allow you to drive in Mustang.

 

Do I need any previous experience for Mustang Motorbike tour?

What is the best season for motorbike tour in Mustang?

Mustang climate is favorable to travel from March to November. June July is mostly raining season in Nepal but Mustang never get raining because this is the rain shadow part of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan region. December, January and February is winter season where Mustang gets snowfall and temperature is very low.

 

What is the Visa procedure and Visa cost? Should we apply for the visa from our home country or will get it in Nepalese Airport? What essential documents should I bring with me?

You can get the visa at Tribhuwan International Airport after landing, furthermore it will be easier if you fill up the visa form by online (https://online.nepalimmigration.gov.np/tourist-visa) before taking the flight to Nepal. Entry Visa fees- at present is $ 30 for 15 day, $ 50 for 30 days and $ 125 for three month visa on entry to Nepal.

You should bring following essential documents in the trip:

  • Valid Passport: must be valid for up to 6 months.
  • Travel insurance: you need to provide a copy of insurance paper to Global Holidays Adventure before you start the trek.
  • Flight Tickets.
  • Emergency contact numbers for T/C's bank, insurance, family contacts.
What sort of accommodation can I expect in Kathmandu and during the trip?

All types of Hotels from a budget to Luxurious including five star services are available in Kathmandu. Normally, Global Holidays Adventure offers three hotel services in our outline itinerary. We can also accommodate according to your choice.

During the trip: You will have teahouse/Lodges generally provide basic clean facilities with a mattress and a quit blanket. We can also offer Global Holidays Adventure's sleeping baggage if needed (which needs to be returned after the trip) but it’s always better to have a personal sleeping bag. We usually provide you single and double rooms. During the peak season it is quite difficult to manage single room therefore double rooms are preferred in our outline itinerary.

How is the shower facilities during in Mustang?

Normally there are hot water shower services in various teahouses and lodges. In the absence of such facility, the teahouse/lodges will provide you hot water bucket. The payment for the shower has to be made by yourself and the cost varies with the places.

 

What kind of foods can I expect during the trip?

Most of Teahouse cook a delicious range of mostly vegetarian fare Pasta, Tuna Bakes, Noodles, Potatoes, Eggs, Dal-bhat, Bread, Soups, Fresh Vegetable ( variety depends on the season) and even some desserts like Apple Pies, Pancakes and some interesting attempts at Custard. You will find a lot of garlic items on the menu, eat some every day because it assists with acclimatization. In many larger villages you may find some meat on the menu. You can always get hot chocolate, tea, coffee, hot lemon as well as soft drinks. Each day dinner and breakfast are used to take in the same lodge you spend the night. Lunch will be taken on the way to destination.

 

What is the likely temperature and weather during in Mustang?

Weather in the mountains is notoriously difficult to predict. Generally, nights are chillingly cold, whereas, the days are warmer. Winter (January and February) will be a bit colder but the days can be quite beautiful and warm if the sun is out. There will be a bit of snow during the month of January, February and December. The temperature inside the teahouses/lodges are fairly maintained. You can always sit beside a fire to keep yourself warmer. The temperature could be as high as 20 degree c to 15 degree c low during the day time.

 

Is there internet access in Mustang?

Yes, most of the places have internet access now in Lower Mustang. In Lo-mantnag there is Everest link Wi-Fi where you can buy recharge card for internet. Also mobile data is work during the whole trip.

In Kathmandu, you can allocate $ 10-15 for lunch and dinner. It all depends on your spending habits. $. 15- 20 a day will be enough to buy bottles of water, chocolate and few drinks in bike tour.

 

How is the drinking water facility during the trek? Should I bring water purifiers?

In most places bottled water is readily available. If you wish to drink normal water, you need to use purifying aid, better if you have some for yourself.

 

What are the facilities available in case of emergencies during in trip ?

In case you suffer from altitude sickness or any other problems, we will offer you the doctor’s prescribed medicines according to the type of problem facing you. We will descend you and incase of extreme cases, you will get rescued by the helicopter.

 

Why is the travel insurance compulsory?

In case of any casualties, travel insurance will be a boon to recover the incurred expenses. In case of helicopter rescue, the helicopter charge, which is little expensive, can also be recovered by your insurance.
