Lastly if you want to avoid rain then mark June and July are the wettest months in Kathmandu.

About Clothes

If your visit is during winter seasons we recommend you to carry jacket, comfortable trousers and comfortable walking boots. The winter season usually falls under late November to February.

Spring is the best time so you can come with some neutral colored clothes with comfortable trousers and shoes. You can also wear shorts if you want. Spring season is usually in March, April and May.

Summer is bit hot but rarely humid so anything comfortable for you can be used from shorts to light trousers with some neutral color t-shirts and sunglasses. The sunscreen and moisturizer is must to carry. Summer months are usually June July and August.

Monsoon is not the best month but that doesn’t mean you cannot visit. Wearing water proof jackets, trousers and shoes are essential for monsoon. You won’t have any trouble visiting as we assure you to get the best of your visit and you could get a whole new experience of Kathmandu’s monsoon. Monsoon seasons are normally starts from June to August. It’s a summer monsoon so visit is possible.

Day

It is not possible to see every nooks and corner at a day but we try to make sure that you won’t miss out lot for a day tour. 

  • 8:30 our private vehicle will pick you up from your hotel.
    First stop is Swyambhunath also known as monkey temple. It’s a 15 to 20 mins drive as there will be very less traffic on mornings.

  • 9:00-10:00 am swyambhu
    You could a dorm with an eye which represent earth and meditating eye of Buddha which is half open in if you it thoroughly. You could also above that dorm some13 tiered tower like structure and that represents the 13 stage to nirvana. It offers the panoramic view of Kathmandu where stupa stood as peace and harmony. There are many sculpture as well as Hindu temple in Buddhist site which you can find only in Nepal. After strolling in swyambhu and looking over few sculptures we will now push off. You could also check out the small market that has to offer variety of thangka and some wooden sculpture also some Buddhist beads used to make ornaments.

  • 10:00 am drive off Bashantapur/Patan Durbar Square.
    45 minutes drive to Patan or Bashantapur.

  • 10:45 to 12:00pm
    At this time you’ve got to choose one among the durbar square and we recommend you patan durbar as bashantapur is still under construction. Even though both durbar square is enrich with its own culture arts and architecture and have similar culture to offer.

    Both places are filled with beautiful wood carving and variety of shrines idol made with stone and copper bronze etc. the place has local flavorful newari cuisine which cannot be missed during the visit. One could experience with a local traditional alcoholic beverage termed as ayela (distilled beverage) and chyang (rice beer).

  • 12:00pm drive of to Pashupatinath (45 min drive).

  • 12:45pm Pashupatinath temple.
    A renowned Hindu temple dedicated to lord Shiva is a place where only Hindu can visit inside temple premises and non-Hindu can see the temple from available terrace east across bagmati river. Leather goods are not allowed to take inside temple premises. You could also see cremation in Hindu tradition. After strolling around for a while we now push off to next destination.

  • 1:45 pm drive off to Boudhanath stupa (30 mins drive approx.)

  • 2:15pm Lunch at Boudha (45 min lunch time).

  • 3:00 pm
    After lunch we will be wandering around Boudhanath stupa which has stood as a symbol of Buddhist faith for hundreds of years as a huge mandala of tranquility and as well as enormous eyes. Boudha has undoubtedly been Kathmandu’s cultural center as it is sacred place for Buddhist pilgrimage place for Tibetans. Inside the stupa you could feel the peace and tranquility and also various monastery offers the same whereas just right outside the back door will takes you to lively phulbari street that is lively and have tons of market where you could do some shopping of items like thangka painting and wooden mask also lots of Buddhist ornament and bead.

  • 4:00 pm (drop off to hotel).

During one day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu we includes 4 major sites which is about 6-7     hours depending on traffic of the city. The timings of 9 to 11 am in mornings and 4 to 6 in evenings, Kathmandu traffic is crazy so it taking in consideration time frame may vary.
