There are huge number of red panda inside the forest of Nepal, which remains outside the conservation areas of Nepal making easier for poaching. Local communities are working hard to preserve the red pandas, however it would be much easier if government take some major action on this. This tour offer unique and ecofriendly experience as we move in the wild and encounter them in their natural habitat.

The red panda is native to the Himalayas of South Asia, inhabiting regions from the Eastern Himalayas to Southwestern China. The red pandas are native to higher Himalayan regions of South Asia and Himalayas of southwestern China. The small to medium sized mammal have a striking appearance with rusted color fur on its upper parts with dark colored face, belly and legs. Their long and fluffy tail with reddish-black fur adds uniqueness and adorable appearance. They have life span about 8-10 years in the wild and about 15 years in places like wildlife parks. Their long and fluffy tail helps to balance their body weight while wandering in the wild. They can produce noises like chirps of birds or deep huff like bears in the wild. The estimated number of red panda is less than 10,000 in the world.

Being sensitive to warm weather, they are hard to find during summer. Monsoons poses significant risks with heavy rainfall and landslide and makes your journey tough and hassle in order to reach and track them in their habitat. The local community don’t allow tracking in the mating season which is January to February due to high risk of poaching and from the view of conservation.
