Tharpu Chuli, also popular as Tent Peak, is situated in the heart of Annapurna region. Tent Peak is relatively smaller and easy trekking peak at an elevation of 5663 m but provides a magnificent view of Annapurna Massif and surrounding mountains. The climbing doesn’t require any pre-mountaineering experience or technical skills, if you are physically fit and healthy and have the desire of Himalayan summit experience in easy way and short period of time, Tent Peak is the right choice. Along with the summit, you visit the famous Poonhill, a Himalayan Vantage Point for panoramic Photographs. Machhapuchre and Annapurna Base Camp are other fabulous destinations on the way.

From Kathmandu you will head to the beautiful city of Pokhara and then Nayapul, from where the trek commences. You will walk through lush rhododendron forests, tapering ridges, swift rivers and streams to reach Poonhill, the photographers point. From there we head to MBC-ABC and finally to the base of Tent Peak. After conquering the Peak, we return to pokhara via Dovan-Jhinudanda. Along with the pristine natural experience, you will encounter the varieties of cultures and traditional lifestyles of the Himalayan people on the way.

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel [1,300m]
You will be welcomed by our staff standing with your name-card in the airport arrival terminal and transferred to your hotel by the private vehicle. Small meeting about the trip in the evening.

Day

Trek preparation & Kathmandu valley sightseeing.
After your breakfast you will be introduced to the trekking guides and helpers. And the Kathmandu sightseeing beings with visit to various UNESCO enlisted cultural Heritage sites including medieval Palaces in Kathmandu-Bhaktapur-Lalitpur Durbar squares. Other sites are Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath and Swayambhunath Stupa.In the evenining you will walk along the Thamel streets which is a good place to buy trekking equipment.

Day

Drive/Fly to Pokhara from Kathmandu
Pokhara is located about 200 km west from Kathmandu and the tourist coach (or private tourist vechile) takes about 7 hours to get there (if you choose to take a flight instead it will be a mere 25min journey). Tourist bus leaves at 7:00 am from Kantipath (Kathmanu) to Pokhara. The drive mostly follows along Trishuli River side enjoying the view of landscapes. At the Evening you may take short sightseeing around Pokhara city. The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek starts from Pokhara.

Day

Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (1491m) Ulleri (1980m).
After breakfast in Pokhara at 7:30 drive to Nayapul from where trekking starts. The drive takes 1:5 hours to Nayapul(42km) by private vehicle.Then trail leads up through the beautiful rice, maze and millet farms of locals. Following the main trail of Birethanti passing through small waterfall. The trail reaches Sudami where you have Lunch. After lunch climb steadily side of valley you reach at Hile and after half an hour you reach at Tikhedhunga for over night stay or you will walk futher until Ulleri for that you need to climbs 3000 stones steps from Tikadhunga.

Day

Tikhedhunga - Ghorepani (2800m.)
In the morning, breakfast will be served at hotel at 7:00am to be prepared for Ulleri (2070m) climb. The trail goes steep up for 1.5 hours through stone steps where the trail leads through cultivated fields Rest of trails goes through inside blooming rhododendron and Oak forest. Final climb to Nangethanti which will be your lunch spot in Nangethanti. Thanti is a Nepali words meaning "rest house" "Dharmasala". In the winter the trail can be covered with snow. After luch trek rests for about an hour. Then climb to Ghorepani at 2850m. Arrive at the top of the Ghorepani pass and camp there.

Ghorepani - Poon hill - Tadapani (2540 m.)
The most important day of your trek early morning wake up and start your journey climb to Poon Hill (3210m) around 1 hr. to witness best majestic scenery and sunrise over the high mountains. Myriads of snow-capped giants can be seen from poonhill including the likes of Dhaulagiri [8167m], Annapurna South [7119m] Fishtail [6993m], Nilglgiri south, Singa chuli, Annapurna I [8091m]. You then come down to Ghorepani to have breakfast and trek to Tadapani for 6 hours. Trek leads mainly up and down hill through the forest.

Day

Trek to Chhomrong (2020 m), 4/5 hrs walk.
Today's trail descends to Kimrong stream through the forest of rhododendron. We then walk towards Chhomrong crossing through the Gurjung village. Chhomrong offers you close views of Mt. Annapurna south and Hiunchuli and the virgin peak, Fishtail (Machhapuchchhre).

Trek to Dovan (2600 m), 4/5 hrs walk.
We descend to Chhomrong stream and again climb up to Dovan crossing through silent rhododendron forest.

Trek to Deurali (3210 m), 3/4 hrs walk.
Today, we climb to Deurali through the rhododendron and bamboo forest. The place located on the ridge of Hinko Cave and it is the trail most stretch subject to avalanche.

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4131 m), 4hrs walk.
The day begins with climb to Machhapuchhre base camp (3900 meters) and to Annapurna base camp. The area is surrounded by the mountains and is known as Annapurna Sanctuary. This place gives you an spectacular view of Himalayas including Annapurna I, Annapurna South and Barah Shikhar.

Day

Trek to Tent peak Base Camp (4400m) 4 Hrs,
From here we will have short walking day as it is very important to avoid getting affected by the thinning of the air and get acclimatization to climb Tent peak. Our guide will give important and useful information about the situation on climbing Tent peak and about next day’s activities. From today the accommodation will be tented camp for next two days and you will be having camp food cooked by our professional cook.

Trek to High Camp (apx 5000m), 2/3 Hrs,
A short day in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning of the air, we take a short trek around high camp and get ready for our adventure for next morning.

Summit Tent peak (5850meters) and return to Base Camp.8/9 Hrs,
Today is our main adventure day, an early morning to climb Tent peak but it all depends on the weather. After safe trip to the summit we make our way safely down then day back to Base Camp.

Trek to Deurali(3200 meters). 6 Hrs,
We follow the same trail down today the trail drops down by 1200 meters to the bank of Modi Khola to small town of Deurali at 3200 meters.

Trek to Jhinu hill (1500 m), 4/5 hrs walk.
Today, we will take bath at natural hot water spring at Jhinu.

Trek to Nayapul and Drive back to pokhara.
Finally, we trek to Nayapul and from there drive to Pokhara.

We take a 6/7 hours drive or 35 min fly back to Kathmandu.

Transfer to airport, departure to your own destination.
The trip ends, our Airport Representative will drop you to the Kathmandu International Airport for your flight departure from Nepal.

Required Equipments

This is a guideline to help what equipment are necessary for trekking and peak climbing. Normally personal equipment and items are individual choice but the most important face that one should have enough gears to tackle the weather in Himalaya.

During the trek heavy items will be carried by our porters or yaks. And the personal belongings which you need for daily or frequent purposes like money, water bottle, rain gear, camera, sun-cream and toilet paper etc. are to be carried by yourself in the backpack. We will provide complimentary water proof duffel bag which you can use during the trek and is carried by porters. You can leave your non trekking items at the hotel or in our office and collect them after the trek.

Flowing gear list gives you some ideas that you can bring for the successful climbing.

  • Polypropylene shirts (1 half sleeve and 2 long sleeves).
  • Light weight thermal tops.
  • Fleece wind-stopper jacket or pullover.
  • Waterproof shell jacket.
  • Down vest and/or jacket (If you don't have then company will provide)
  • Gore-Tex jacket with hood, waterproof and breathable.

Hands

  • 1 pair of lightweight poly-liner gloves.
  • 1 pair of lightweight wool or fleece gloves.
  • 1 pair of mittens; consists of 1 Gore-Tex over mitt matched, waterproof, polar-fleece mitt liner.

Lower Body

  • Non-cotton underwear.
  • 1 pair of hiking shorts.

  • 1 pair of fleece or woolen trousers.
